In 2005 5 youngsters came together to voice their discontent and disgust with the world through music. Blade was born. Their sound is a bleak, dark and agressive hybrid of hardcore and metal, but still staying far away from the current metalcorestyle. In fact everything about Blade is influenced by the earlier, angrier days of new school hardcore.
They remind you of times when bands would get into the scene to release their anger and hate, and were not concerned with popularity, radioairplay or catchy choruses. The time of sweaty clubshows, small distro’s and mailorders.
Despite all that they have a fresh sound that grabs you by the neck upon first hearing it. Lyrically Blade speaks about subjects like the dark side of the human soul, straight edge, the destruction of our world by mankind and the demise of our species because of that.
Live they are a tornado of hardcore that sure as hell doesn’t take any prisoners. It’s a wall of sound, full of energy and sharp like a razorblade. This way they earned a good reputation all over Europe.
Blade released their message two times on the world already. They have a split with the german band Golddust on break out records, and a 7” named “lambs to the slaughter” on ugly and proud records.
This winter they recorded new armageddon injected songs that will be released soon. The Mayans will be proven right.
